- All bull roast tickets need to be paid for by January
-
Encouraged folks to show up for the
- Commitment for getting a group to the Polar Bear Plunge. All plungers need to raise at least $50 to plunge and get a sweat shirt.
- Sue Draper, Council Secretary is working on themes and activities for the OC Convention in June.
- Voted to expel Roost 101, 104 and 114 for 4 months of no dues and failure to show up at council meetings.
- Amendments were made to the Bylaws about Nests and Roost playing nice together, this was the 1st reading.
- Roost 118 to have a float in the Westminster Parade on November 26th. Asked us to help, but not enough notice will coordinate for next year.
- We mentioned our one year anniversary and Charter member renewals and new membership of approximately 100 members and received a nice round of applause.
Committee Reports:
Charity Committee: We will be donating to Toys for Tots from our Holiday Party. We are asking everyone attending to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots. A $5 donation is also acceptable which will be donated as well.
Entertainment/Events –
Mike McGinnis is coordinating the group to go to the Polar Bear Plunge. We want at least 5 plungers, but will welcome as many as want to participate. We have 4 brave plungers committed, thanks Scott Albright, Kathy Sanner, Tim Rose and John Wisner. It is free to be a spectator so we want to get a big group to go down support our plungers and have some fun tail gaiting. Each plunger must raise $50 minimum in donations. Mike is looking into getting a school bus to get us all there. Let’s support our plungers with donations and get more plungers committed.
We currently have 10 bull roast tickets and are working on getting more. Roost 50 has extra tickets so we will work through the process to acquire more tickets. We will request that our Roost and Roost 50 be seated near one another since we are partnering at the OC convention.
Our holiday party is planned. Mike McGinnis presented the information. Date is Thursday, Dec ember 8th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Rafael’s. Food and drink specials will be available as well as door prizes. Members, Spouses or significant others are invited. An Evite has been sent out so be sure and RSVP. We are asking all attendees to bring a new unwrapped toy donation for Toys for Tots or a $5 donation to be used for this charity. Thanks to our event committee for working to make this a great time. Plan to come out wear your team colors and kick this 2011 holiday season off with a bang!
Membership
We have 11 new members this month! Awesome!! Remember to use your discount cards at Roost meetings and NFL Games for 10% discount at Rafael’s.
Apparel
Jay and Carol from Main Street Embroidery were present to show logo items that they have available for purchase. They will be creating a page of available items for purchase and Dawn will be putting this on our Roost website. They are very willing to work with us to create items of interest to members.
PR
Heather has been busy helping to get our name out there. We have received our Council banner for events which is a Roost requirement. Heather presented this at the meeting. Heather will keep the banner since she will need it for PR events. She also presented several designs for our own Roost banner. A few other revisions were suggested which she will work on soon so that we can come to an agreement or vote in the near future.
New business:
Jamison Hensley the Ravens Reporter for the Baltimore Sun and a NFL blogger was our guest speaker and was very well received. He offered some great insight into the Ravens and has offered to come back again for additional discussions. We have made Jamison an Honorary Member of our Roost and we also presented him with a gift card to Rafael’s.
Raf and Lori have decided to make the deck the “Ravens Room”. They have hung purple and white lights and Dawn donated a “Ravens Fan Cave” sign which was hung on the wall behind the tiki bar as our first contribution. Lori announced that if we want to add any Ravens items, we are welcome to do so. She recommended that we don’t purchase anything which we would mind if it “disappeared” because it is outdoors and not always monitored.
Next Meeting:
We will not have an official meeting in December, but instead will be having a fun social event on December 8th for all of our Roost Members to enjoy, mix, mingle and get to know one another better.
Respectfully Submitted,
Secretary
(Thanks to Scott Albright and Dawn Geigan for helping me to create these notes in my absence).
